Members Present: Beverly Potvin Kenniston and James Dillon.
1. Acceptance of Minutes
Motion was made by James Dillon and seconded by Beverly Potvin Kenniston. It was voted to approve the minutes of June 28, 2010. There were no Board of Assessor meetings in July and August.
2. Miscellaneous Items
Miscellaneous Discussion Items
The Board discussed the new Open Meeting Law guidelines that took affect on July 1, 2010. The changes made were done to provide for greater transparency and clarity. Notice of meetings must be posted 48 hours in advance, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Meeting notices must list the topics that will be discussed or reasonably anticipated will be discussed at the meeting.
The Bureau of Local Assessment completed review of Holden’s LA-3 Sales Reports, LA-15 Interim Year Adjustment Report and LA-4 Assessment Classification Report. The total value of the Town for Fiscal Year 2011 is $1,859,330,400. The tax base levy New Growth has been approved by the Department of Revenue.
Only three (3) Appellate Tax Board Telecommunication cases remain to be settled. These cases involve valuation that has been determined by the Commissioner of Revenue and will be defended by the Department of Revenue.
Supplemental Tax Bill for new construction on properties completed between January 1 and June 30, 2010 and totaling $20,185.83 in taxes came due on September 16th.

Our next meeting will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. in the Starbard Building.
